Karin Lexén

Karin Lexén was appointed Secretary General of Swedish society for Nature Conservation in March 2017. Prior to that she had worked with environmental and international issues for 25 years. Her responsibilities have ranged from research and management to analysis and policy development, networking and cooperation across a wide range of actors and sectors including research institutes, private companies, government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders. Among other positions she has served as Head of International Policy and the World Water Week at the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) and Head of Section for the Swedish Ministry for the Environment . An environmental chemist by training, she has researched organic pollutants and their environmental impact at Stockholm University and the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency.
