Katherine White, Head of Strategy and Projects, Energy and Climate Change Directorate, Scottish Government
Katherine has over ten years of experience as a policy analyst in the fields of Energy and Climate Change and is currently the Head of Strategy and Projects under the Energy and Climate Change Directorate at the Scottish Government – with responsibility for producing Scotland’s new over-arching Energy Strategy.
Katherine has played a leading role in the development of Scottish Government policy in a range of technical and high-profile policy areas relating to Climate Change Legislation and Targets, UK legislation to reform the electricity market and devolution of further powers in Energy under the Smith Commission and Scotland Act. She spent four years working at the UK Committee on Climate Change (CCC) covering Devolved Administration interests in the CCC’s inaugural report on UK Carbon Budgets and leading the global land use analysis for the CCC’s 2011 Bioenergy Review.
